Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 06/01/2025

This cancellation policy aims to balance the needs of our business and clients, ensuring fairness and flexibility for both families and caregivers using 24hchildcare.

1. Family Cancellations

  1. More than 24 hours before shift: Full refund minus non-refundable service fee.
  2. Less than 24 hours before shift: Provider keeps 50% of booked pay. Family keeps the remaining 50%.

2. Provider Cancellations

  1. More than 24 hours before shift: In a situation where the caregiver has an emergency, and we are unable to get a replacement, Family gets a full refund + free future booking <30 days.
  2. Account Suspension: 24hchildcare may suspend the caregiver account after 3 cancellations within a 6-month period.

3. Cancellation & Schedule Change Policy for 3 or 5-Day Weekly Plans

  1. Weekly Schedule Submission: To keep your 3 or 5-Day Weekly Plan active, please submit your set days and times every Sunday by 11:00 PM for the upcoming week. This allows us to lock in your caregiver's schedule.
  2. Caregiver Reservation: Caregivers reserve those exact hours for your family and may decline other booking opportunities based on your submitted schedule.
  3. Schedule Change Fee: Any schedule change or cancellation requested with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a $35 change fee. This fee applies even if we are able to accommodate the requested change.
  4. Extra Hours: Additional hours may be added during scheduled care as needed and will be billed to your account. No advance notice is required for extra hours.

4. Exceptions

  1. Emergencies: We may waive cancellation fees for documented emergencies or extenuating circumstances.
  2. Weather & Power Outages: For other emergencies (e.g., severe weather, power outage), Caregivers/Families may mutually reschedule or refund.
  3. Illness or Hospitalization: We’ll waive fees or offer rescheduling options with appropriate documentation.
  4. Government Directives: If the government declares Level 3: Stay Home or an equivalent order, bookings will be rescheduled without penalty.

5. Refunds

  1. Refunds process via the original payment method within 3-5 business days.
  2. Refunds do not include non-refundable service fees.
  3. Please note: Each enrollment fee is strictly non-refundable.

6. Dispute Resolution

7. Changes to Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are effective immediately for all new bookings.
